About Us

With years of experience working for several local and nationally based elevator companies, Richard Bilancia, Sr. founded FEDERAL ELEVATOR, INC. in December 1995. Rich, Sr. used the combination of quality technical experience and customer service to make FEDERAL ELEVATOR, INC. New Jersey's premier independently owned and operated elevator company with service available from High Point to Cape May.

After affiliating with I.U.E.C., Local 1, our customer base rapidly grew as we performed superior elevator maintenance and for both local businesses and globally respected companies. By utilizing an approach focused on our customers, we provided them a new alternative and continue many of these relationships today.

In 2001, Leslie Bilancia joined the company, assuming the role of President. Prior to joining FEDERAL ELEVATOR, INC., Leslie was responsible for purchasing and property management for a Central New Jersey Fortune 100 company. Her previous professional experiences brought a new dynamic to the company, as now FEDERAL ELEVATOR, INC. was able to develop new plans and initiatives with the mindset of one of the customer. In her role as President and Co-Owner, Leslie has also helped FEDERAL ELEVATOR, INC. become certified by the State of New Jersey as a Small Business Enterprise. Under Leslie's guidance, the company has also expanded its footprint into the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area and teamed with I.U.E.C. Local 5 to provide its high-caliber service with locally trained technicians to this area.

FEDERAL ELEVATOR, INC. has positioned itself for substantial growth in the future. In 2005, we moved into our current Brick, New Jersey location. This centrally located main office and parts warehouse reasonably positions our staff to our customers, thus reducing both our emergency response time and equipment downtime. To better serve the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area, FEDERAL ELEVATOR, INC. has recently opened a satellite office and parts warehouse in Bristol, Pennsylvania.

Our leadership has also expanded to include Richard Bilancia, Jr., who has rejoined the company and works remotely out of a Durham, North Carolina office. His undergraduate degree is from LaSalle University in Philadelphia and he has successfully completed graduate course work in the business and education disciplines. Professionally, he brings a successful sales manager and training background from a Fortune 100 Company, and two years hands-on elevator apprenticeship experience to the company. His current responsibilities as Vice President focus on sales, brand extension and financial operations.
